Nentou-Hiramatsu (念頭平松)

A heritage tree with branches grow on all sides like an umbrella

On the northern side of Dana settlement in Iheya village grows a huge pine tree dubbed the Nentou-Hiramatsu. It is a Ryukyu pine (a tree indigenous to the Ryukyu Islands) that is about 300 years old, 7.8 meters high, and 1.18 meters across in diameter. In 1994 the area was rebuilt in to the Nentou-Hiramatsu Park. On holidays you can see families picnicking!!
